Designer in the spotlight : Bekahdu

I was lucky enough to be interviewed for the Designer in The Spotlight spot this week. Go here to see the interview if you want to have a read. I always find it is always such a tricky thing answering questions like that about my self and my work, and even trickier putting photos out there!.

Stiched textile bowls

I made another little bowl last week. This time I stitched some shiny seed beads to the top to add some sparkle. I also made in in a more organised way, instead of random stitching I created small organic circles in three colours, Again, it creates an amazing shadow!

These bowls are only small as I only have a small frame to stitch onto.., just little trinket bowls. I think I may need to invest in a bigger one so that I can do some Bigger bowls!

Playing around with clutches

So I have been playing around with clutches for the last few days. I have been asked to make some for Handmade Heaven,  an online handmade one stop shop… check it out.

I am not a very clutchy person, having small boys, I tend to like being handsfree..I do like the look of them however so it’s a bit of a bind!.  I tend to usually go for more of a wristlet..I have made some clutches before, like these

I thought this time I’d try a few different ones, like these…..

I do always like upcycled denim so I might do a few more of those.  I have also just managed to get a couple of swivel clasps so will do some with removable handles.

I’m not sure what I prefer yet, but it sure is fun playing :-)…. (although I have to make some cushion covers for an order first!)

dishwasher fun

dishwasher fun

Who would have thought that Bicarb works just as well as dishwasher tabs in the dishwasher!.We discovered it this week when we ran out of tabs and the budget didn’t quite stretch to getting new ones! off to Google for an alternative. We have been using bicarb for the last few days and it is a winner..might never buy tabs again :-). We haven’t got to the vinegar in the rinse aid slot yet as our slot is still full of rinse aid. But when it runs out…in goes the vinegar. I’ll let you know how that goes.
